Sophie & Luke’s Wedding - High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells
My last wedding of 2021!
Sophie and Luke booked me waaaaaaay back in March 2020 for their December wedding in 2021. Back then, December 2021 felt so far away, and we were all naively certain that Covid would be a dim and distant memory by the time their wedding day rolled around. Remember when we all thought Covid would be done and dusted in 3 weeks?! So little did we know that the spectre of Covid would cast a shadow over their wedding, bringing with it the uncertainty of whether friends, family and suppliers would be able to make it… or if Boris would stop play altogether.
Needless to say, Sophie and Luke had an anxious build up to their wedding day, keeping everything crossed that everyone involved would manage to stay clear of the virus. The run up to any wedding day should be such an exciting time and I really feel for them that they couldn’t really experience that amidst the uncertainty, but it DID mean that when we all made it to their beautiful wedding, the excitement was riding high and the emotion palpable! So much so that Sophie had to pause half way down the aisle. Everyone was overcome with emotion - I certainly felt it too! And this is why I love what I do. Real people, real emotion, real moments, real love.
I think everyone felt a huge sense of relief. We’d ALL got there. We ALL made it (after numerous lateral flows all round!). And what a magical day it was!
