Melanie & Christopher’s Wedding - The Orangery, Maidstone

I rounded off my September weddings in the best possible way, with a beautifully sunshine-y day at The Orangery in Maidstone for Mel & Chris’s wedding! The spectacular grounds at The Orangery were bursting with flowers, yet bathed in an early Autumnal sunshine, creating a beautifully soft and romantic glow which lasted all day.

Something I love about my job is that despite having photographed hundreds of weddings, the magic of a wedding day still has the power to take my breath away. Moments before the ceremony, the lovely registrar took Mel’s hand and encouraged her to walk slowly down the aisle and take it all in, reminding her that this moment happens just once in an entire lifetime, and not to rush through it but to savour it and make it last. I got goosebumps!

Mel looked absolutely incredible in her dress, and she and Chris were a total dream to photograph. They were totally relaxed and so visibly in love with each other – I could’ve been out in the grounds with them for hours! But they had their guests to return to, many of whom had joined them from all over the world.

Mel and Chris had devoted heaps of thought to the styling, embracing the elegance of the venue with soft tones, tumbling flowers and thoughtful details all around. The Orangery looked like something from a fairy tale – dreamy, romantic and gorgeous.

Hugest congratulations, Mel and Chris! It was a joy to spend the day with you and all of your friends and family!
