Amy & Stuart’s Wedding - Allington Castle, Maidstone
We are SO lucky where we live – there are gorgeous wedding venues absolutely everywhere! And just as I think I’ve photographed all of them, I get to shoot a wedding at Allington Castle, a medieval castle just a stones’ throw from Maidstone.
Set amongst 42 acres of the prettiest woodland, Allington Castle dates back to the 12th century. Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn are known to be amongst the castle’s most famous visitors! But on Friday, it was Amy & Stuart’s turn to weave Allington Castle into their own personal love story.
And what a gorgeous day we had! With roses in bloom everywhere and lavender gently swaying in the breeze, I was completely blown away by the beauty of this very special place. With the castle’s resident ducks casually ambling around the grounds, the pretty gardens and completely unspoilt countryside offered SO MANY opportunities for romantic photos – I could’ve photographed there all weekend and not run out of things to photograph!
Amy & Stuart had a very beautiful, intimate and emotional ceremony in the castle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room after Amy walked down the aisle! After the ceremony, everyone gathered for a relaxed afternoon tea in the barn – a lovely, chilled out affair which suited Amy & Stuart’s personalities perfectly.
My lovely couple partied the evening away with their guests, gamely joining me for even more romantic photos in the lavender right up until the sun went down. And even after that, I’d gladly have stayed even longer to carry on photographing all the gorgeous corners of the castle and grounds!
